Africa

The Pinnacle of Adventure Travel

Africa offers incomparable opportunities for exploration and discovery.  It is a beautifully wild, rugged, mysterious continent, filled with charismatic wildlife, iconic cultures, remote destinations, and breathtaking landscapes.  It offers the ability to truly get off the beaten path, yet still enjoy the creature comforts and tranquility of world-class accommodation.  Add to that the opportunity to participate in truly responsible tourism, where tourists have a direct and positive impact on conservation efforts and local communities, and Africa offers everything for the savvy globetrotter.

A major allure of Africa is the diversity of unique destinations, activities, and experiences.  Begin a trip hiking the world’s tallest sand dunes in Namibia and end plying the waterways of the Okavango Delta in Botswana.  Follow up cage-diving among Great White Sharks with a glass of world-class wine on the Western Cape of South Africa.  Learn hunting techniques from Maasai warriors after marveling at the spectacle of migration in the Serengeti.  Spend a morning interacting with meerkats and end the day participating in a trance dance with the San Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert.  The possibilities for blending natural, cultural, and culinary adventures into a once-in-a-lifetime transformational experience are infinite – tell us your dream adventure and we’ll help you fulfill it!

The Skeleton Coast and Kaokoland are Namibia’s most remote regions, with access allowed only to those few who know the area intimately. An area free of game fences and home to some of the most specialized mammals on earth, including desert adapted black rhino, elephant and lions, this area are also home to the ancient Himba culture. This combined with some of the most spectacular scenery in Namibia makes for what must be one of the most authentic and pioneering safaris available in Namibia.

Tyler Davis

A native of Seattle, Washington, Tyler Davis first set foot in Africa at age 13 and immediately felt a deep connection to the continent.  Two years later, at age 15, he was back to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and spend his summer living and working as an in-camp bird guru at a safari lodge in the Okavango Delta in Botswana.  During his studies at Cornell University, a study-abroad course in Tropical Field Ecology took him to Mpala Research Center in Central Kenya, where he later returned after graduating to study the social dynamics of Superb Starlings.  Now, as an Africa Specialist, Tyler is eager to share his passion for Africa and work with you to design your ideal African adventure!

There exists an inexplicable magic about Africa – the sights, the sounds, the smells – that stimulates the senses and awakens the soul in an unparalleled way, and will have you coming back for more, again and again.  Taking that first step in committing to a trip to Africa, however, can be a big one, and it is our goal at EverGreen Escapes to make it as easy as possible; we understand that Africa is a dream, and we want to help you fulfill it.  We’re also here to help with the 2nd, 3rd, and 10th trip after the first!
