Spend 13 unforgettable days exploring one of Africa’s best-kept secrets, juxtaposing an ideal balance of luxury and adventure. The aim of this safari is to provide a quintessential yet transformational African experience, while focusing on the unique landscapes, cultural history, and natural history that Namibia has to offer. From hiking the world’s tallest sand dunes to enjoying world-class ocean-side dining; tracking the only free-roaming population of endangered Black Rhino left on Earth, to relaxing with sundowners at some of the best safari lodges Africa has to offer. Day 1 – Arrival in Windhoek
After landing at the Hosea Kutako airport, 40 km outside Windhoek, you will be met and greeted by your host, Tyler Davis. En route to your overnight accommodation in Windhoek you will be taken on a short city tour of the capital city of Namibia.

Day 2 – Windhoek to AfriCat Foundation
The AfriCat Foundation runs the largest cheetah and leopard rescue and release programme in the world; close encounters with leopard and cheetah are an unforgettable highlight. Activities include leopard-tracking, a visit to the cheetah welfare project, and a visit to the night hide.

Day 3 – AfriCat Foundation to East Etosha National Park
Visit the blue hole of Lake Otjikoto en route to Namibia’s largest National Park, Etosha. Here we will spend the next three days looking for the charismatic megafauna of Southern Africa, including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, giraffe, zebra, ostrich, and much more.

Day 4 – Etosha National Park
Today your guide will treat you to an exciting full day game drive into the north-eastern side of Etosha National Park, stopping off at selected waterholes to view game. Etosha boasts some 114 mammal and 340+ bird species, in addition to the dramatic salt pans the stretch as far as the eye can see.

Day 5 – Eastern Etosha National Park to Southern Etosha Boundary
Another exciting day searching for game, this time heading to the southwest section of the Park, eventually reaching Ongava Private Game Reserve. The evening and night can be spent game viewing at the camp’s floodlit waterhole.

Day 6 – Etosha National Park to Palmwag Concession
Today is a long day, but filled with many memorable experiences. Visit a local Himba settlement en route to Palmwag, and learn about the customs and traditions of this very proud nation. Continue to Desert Rhino Camp via an extremely scenic drive through the Palmwag Concession, reaching camp in time for sundowners.

Day 7 – Palmwag Concession
Spend an exciting and memorable morning out rhino tracking followed by a picnic lunch before returning to camp in the early afternoon. Relax at camp until you head out again later in the afternoon for a scenic nature drive or walk.

Day 8 – Palmwag Concession to Twyfelfontein (Damaraland)
Visit the Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Organ Pipes, and Burnt Mountain. Arrive at camp in time for lunch and a leisurely afternoon before enjoying a sundowner at one of the most magnificent views in Namibia.

Day 9 – Damaraland
Namibia is one of two countries in the world where desert-adapted elephants can be found, and we will spend the day searching for this unique population of elephants. Many other species of desert wildlife may also be encountered before returning to the camp for lunch and a leisurely afternoon (with an optional guided walk).

Day 10 – Damaraland to Swakopmund
On the way to Swakopmund we’ll pass Namibia’s highest mountain, the Brandberg, before arriving at our destination for an afternoon that can be spent exploring this historic town on foot and shopping before dinner at a famous local restaurant.

Day 11 – Swakopmund to Wolwedans, NamibRand Nature Reserve (by air)
We will spend the morning on a memorable marine cruise within the outer lagoon and harbor. This is an ideal way of seeing Cape Fur Seals, Heaviside and bottlenose dolphins, pelicans, flamingos, a wide variety of sea birds, and possibly whales and leatherback sea turtles. An afternoon private charter flight will take us to the NamibRand Nature Reserve.

Overnight: Wolwedans Dune Lodge
Day 12 – Wolwedans, NamibRand Nature Reserve
An early morning spent exploring the Namib Naukluft National Park, watching the sun rise over the world’s tallest sand dunes. Spend the day looking for the myriad unique creatures and plants that have adapted to this harsh environment before returning to the Lodge for a leisurely afternoon or walk of Sesriem Canyon.

Day 13 – Departure
A morning private charter flight to Windhoek, where we will spend some leisure time shopping at the renowned Windhoek Craft Market. Lunch is had at a local restaurant before being transferred to the Windhoek International Airport in time for your international flights home.

Meet your host | Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis is EverGreen Escapes’ lead naturalist and Escape Artist. From the moment he first set foot in Africa at the age of thirteen, Tyler has maintained a profound passion for the continent and everything it has to offer. Africa’s allure has drawn him back time and time again, from working as an ornithologist at a research center in central Kenya’s Laikipia Plateau to climbing through rainforests and traversing the snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro to reach the continent’s highest point. Tyler will be teaming up with local guides and naturalists from one of Namibia’s most reputable safari companies, Ultimate Safaris, to provide a highly educational and interpretive adventure.

Perez Kamukuenjandje
Perez spent a number of years as a senior expedition guide at &Beyond, based in Namibia, and has now been with Ultimate Safaris for 3 years. At &Beyond he worked his way up from camp assistant, to camp captain and ultimately a senior expedition guide. Perez also spent a number of years guiding in the Namib Desert, becoming somewhat of an expert on desert ecosystems and the functioning thereof. He was formally trained at Nkwazi on the Phinda Game Reserve in South Africa and has a wealth of experience, including walking in big five territory. He was also one of the recipients of the US State Departments Millenium Challenge Account Bursaries to further his expertise in the guiding field, graduating from this as one of the top guides in his class. His experience, knowledge and infectious personality really contributes to a successful safari in Namibia, and more importantly to having fun whilst on safari.
Clement Lawrence
Clement joined Ultimate Safaris in 2010, after having spent 5 years working for the well-known safari outfit Wilderness Safaris. During his time at Wilderness Safaris Clement graduated as one of the top graduates at the Namibian Academy for Tourism and Hospitality (NATH), qualifying as a national naturalist guide and also spent time at the Wilderness Leadership School in the Umfolozi Game Reserve in South Africa. He has spent a number of years working at Serra Cafema on the Kunene River, Desert Rhino Camp and Little Kulala, whilst building up extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of the Skeleton Coast, Hoanib River, Twyfelfontein and Etosha National Park. Clement is a keen birder and his infectious enthusiasm for the natural environment makes him the perfect guide. Growing up in Namibia, Angola and Botswana he has extensive knowledge of southern Africa, with his favourite region being the north western region of Namibia. Clement is one of the few guides who is extremely technologically orientated and is known as a bit of a guru when it comes to the utilization of cameras, iPads, iPhones and laptops and their applications whilst on safari.
