Dan Moore
Dan has over 20 years’ experience as an outdoor educator, professional adventure guide, and workshop facilitator. Dan helped start Evergreen Escapes in 2007, building the business for over 6 years. He then went on to found Pandion Consulting & Facilitation, a consulting and training firm based in Seattle Washington. At Pandion, Dan cowrote the first international adventure travel guide standard (ATGS), and still serves on the group’s governance board. He teaches Ecotourism, Adventure Travel, and Guide Training at Peninsula College in Washington State and serves on several nonprofit boards. In 2023, Dan was hired as COO of The Adventure Hub, a family of small travel companies that includes Evergreen Escapes. He enjoys getting out guiding trips when he can. Dan grew up in Minneapolis MN and spent a large percentage of his childhood out exploring the wilderness and wild areas around home and afar. In 1996, after graduating from college in St. Paul MN (Macalester College), Dan left to spend most of a year in South America – trekking and researching tropical forests in Bolivia, Peru and Brazil. It is here he understood the importance of creating positive experiences for people in the outdoors. In 1999 Dan completed a certificate course in Environmental Education from the University of MN at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center and shortly thereafter moved to Seattle. Dan is an avid outdoorsman, loves hiking, skiing, and birding. He also plays guitar and previously performed in a handful of Seattle-based bands including Forgotten Sol and Roxbury Pound.
