Visit the charming seaside town of Cannon Beach in view of Haystack Rock – one of the area’s most iconic images. Hike in Oregon’s acclaimed coastal State Parks, and even explore the rocky intertidal zone at low tide. Marvel at the remnants of the ancient lava flows that form our region’s dramatic headlands and provide the terrain that hosts fern-filled old-growth forests. Your guide will help customize your day to focus on hiking, history, local culture, or beach time, and while most trips focus in and around the Cannon Beach area, you may explore further north or south after consultation with your guide. Absorb the rich natural history of the region as we experience this magnificent coastline.

8:30-9A: Pickup in central Portland
When booking, be sure to provide the phone number where we can reach you during your travels. Let our team know where you’re staying and we’ll do everything we can to make your pick-up as easy as possible. We’ll connect the day prior to your tour to confirm details.
10:00A: First ocean views
10:30A: Exploration of Ecola or Oswald West State Park
Your guide will select the best trail fo rthis day, with either option providing walks in coastal rain forest and sweeping ocean views. If time allows, we may even be able to visit both destinations.
12:00P: Lunch al fresco
Location will vary with group size, with options including downtown cafes, family-style at a state park picnic area, and even pulling up a seat on the sand!
Afternoon:
After lunch, wander the streets of downtown Cannon Beach and take a sandy walk to Haystack Rock, or get ice cream in Manzanita and put your toes in the (cold!) north Pacific Ocean.
5:30P: Arrive in Portland
Arrival at your Portland accommodation.
