Mt. Rainier National Park

Highlight of Our Trip

This Mt. Rainier tour was the highlight of our trip to Seattle. It was nice to get out of the city for the day. Our tour guide, JD, was prompt to picking us up and awesome. It was very nice and intimate. This tour exceeded our expectations. The coffee, snacks and lunch were great. You only need to bring your camera, they take care of everything. This tour was worth every penny! Mt Rainier is beautiful and the history lesson was great.

Like a Private Tour

The small group environment allows 1-on-1 interaction with the tour guide, sort of like why small school classes are generally better than large university classes. Justin was knowledgeable about trees, ecosystems, forests, etc. It was like a private tour and we felt safe and secure! My family had a wonderful time with our group; we will remember this tour for the rest of our lives!!

Doing this again soon!

What an incredible experience! Evergreen Escapes provided our group of friends a beautiful hike through Mt. Rainier with delicious food and wine. Justin, our guide was very informative about the history and ecology of the park. He was also attentive to everyone’s needs throughout the day making sure everyone was comfortable. We look forward to doing this again soon!

Highly recommend this!

Andrew provided us with commentary that was very interesting. We stopped at hiking trails on the way to Paradise, as he explained the flora in the Pacific Northwest. To be honest, I normally have no interest in learning about the life of ancient trees but after spending time here, I was very impressed! Andrew also took us to a waterfalls where the views were breathtaking. He prepared a lunch for us that was much better than you expected. I highly recommend this!

Olympic National Park

6 Stars!

If only I could give it 6 stars! Grandparents and two teenagers (13 & 15) set off on our private adventure with Sean! Every part of the trip was choreographed perfectly and well-planned for an excellent day on tour. His kindness to the “kids” was awesome responding to their spontaneous ideas of…let’s go find a farm with barns to photograph, food stops for hungry teenagers and the last-minute kayaking on Lake Crescent. His knowledge of all aspects of the peninsula was impressive. A great role model for the teens of how to be well-educated and enjoy your job experiences. The spectacular riverside lunch was delicious- my favorite. The office coordinator, Halee, arranged our tour and all staff were very attentive and understanding of our personal needs.

Honeymoon Trip

These trips were booked by our agent on our honeymoon in Seattle and they were excellent. Both guides on these trips (Mt. Rainier & Olympic National Parks) were knowledgeable of the local area and wildlife and each group was 8-10 in size so no one was left out. Coffee stops mid-morning on the journeys and lunch included were a welcome addition as were the cookies in the bus on the way home. When we moved to Portland we used Evergreen Escapes (as they have a team in Portland) again for a Columbia wine trip including hiking to find waterfalls. Highly recommended!

Incredibly Friendly.

We took Evergreen Escapes day trip to Olympic National Park from Seattle. Everything about the day was fantastic! The tour guide picked us up from our hotel in Seattle early in the morning and took our group straight to the ferry to Bainbridge Island. On the ferry, a light breakfast was provided along with some background knowledge of the park. Our time at the park included time in Hurricane Ridge, a hike up Hurricane Hill (beautiful views he whole way), a lunch stop right next to the Elwha River, and time at Cresent Lake. The Hoh Rainforest is too far to include on this trip, but we felt like we had seen a great mix of the beautiful things found at the park. Lunch included a variety of chicken and salads, all served with a tablecloth and silverware at a picnic table in the shade. Our guide, Sean, was top notch. He has a lot of experience with the park having worked there in the past, so he knew so much about the park. He was also incredibly friendly and was a wonderful host for the day. We can not recommend this tour enough if you want a day trip to Olympic. It is such a beautiful place!

Sean was excellent.

Our tour guide to Olympic National Park, Sean, was excellent!! A walking encyclopedia. He picked us up from a downtown hotel & a short ride to the ferry where he drove the van on. Light breakfast and hot beverages on the ferry and info on the plan for the day. Ferry ride is 30 minutes. 1 1/2 hour drive to the park (saw a bald eagle) and Hurricane Ridge where we walked up a trail to the top (saw marmots) Beautiful! Off to Elwha Valley & Madison Falls and a picnic lunch outside that was delicious! Wine is also offered. Drove to Lake Crescent and an old-growth forest that looks like Jurassic park with lichen covered huge trees and big ferns. Plenty of bathroom breaks along the way and snacks also provided. Cookies after Crescent Lake and a 2 hour drive back to the ferry. Sean’s enthusiasm was appreciated and it was great to see him be as excited as we were to see the animals and views. Sean even let us pick blackberries while we waited for the ferry. Sean was nice enough to drop us wherever we wanted downtown at the end of the tour. 12 hour day and we saw and did so much. Definitely worth doing!!!
